I’ve always been diferentona since I can remember. You may already have guessed that, huh? And since I was little, my glasses were an accessory that I wanted too. And not just because of my journey to always have something unique to express to the world my personality. As a typical girl out of the patterns in the years 90, born always identified with characters who wore glasses: the geeks, the displaced, the fleeing of the ordinary and that even against everything and everyone ended up saving the day and being the great heroes (is Hollywood, after all).
For me, the glasses were the quality of mini-escudos faithful – and nothing made me more angry when in the movies the protagonist had to take off my glasses to go through a transformation and be really pretty. I really like the idea of permanent accessory in the face, I wondered if it would not have a another solution to be beautiful and keep it there.
My dream to wear glasses was finally achieved in adolescence with the discovery of my astigmatism. Just like everything in life, it wasn’t quite what I expected. First because at that time, the options of models was tiny compared to what we have available today. Second, because I took a long time (long time) very wrong (wrong really, really) to find my ideal combo of frame and lens – and how few people talk about it, right?
All I saw at the time and I see today on the subject focuses on finding the ideal frame your pro~kind of face, but nobody warns that, in practice, is the usability and style of glasses that will make you feel good with them. For me, for example, what works are big lenses (I have the cheek and the large lens harmonizes well with my face). But I found that the comfort goes well beyond the frame when I tried for the first time the such of Transitions lenses. The truth is that I “ran” to tell migas on whatsapp that those lenses that we see in the ads is really amazing and life-changing–and I wouldn’t bring them here if it was real.
And it’s a bit that I want to talk with you. In Modica, we are pró-pequenas revolutions, that’s what I want to do with the help of Transitions lenses: Deconstructing the myths about glasses and style and show–in a series of posts-how to choose the best model for your personality and give that little push providential on self-esteem, without giving up the comfort and optimal function of the glasses.
So I wanted to ask the help of everyone sharing their stories with the glasses, their discoveries, their pain and their questions so we see together.
