Muscatine County is a county located in the state of Iowa. As of 2000, the population is 41,722. Its county seat is Muscatine, Iowa.

Geography

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,163 km² (449 mi²). 1,136 km² (439 mi²) of it is land and 27 km² (10 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.32% water.

The racial makeup of the county is 90.72% White, 0.70% Black or African American, 0.31% Native American, 0.83% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 6.05% from other races, and 1.37% from two or more races. 11.92% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
