Dickinson County (standard abbreviation: DK) is a county located in the state of Kansas. As of 2000, the population is 19,344. The county seat is at Abilene.

Geography

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,207 km² (852 mi²). 2,196 km² (848 mi²) of it is land and 11 km² (4 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.49% water.

The racial makeup of the county is 96.44% White, 0.58% Black or African American, 0.49% Native American, 0.30% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.82% from other races, and 1.36% from two or more races. 2.30% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
