As of the census of 2000, there are 5,120 people, 2,045 households, and 1,435 families residing in the county. The population density is 3/km² (7/mi²). There are 2,291 housing units at an average density of 1/km² (3/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 95.47% White, 0.10% Black or African American, 0.55% Native American, 0.12% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 2.75% from other races, and 1.02% from two or more races. 6.31% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
