Kenton County is a county located in the state of Kentucky. As of 2000, the population is 151,464. Its county seat is Independence.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 426 km² (164 mi²). 420 km² (162 mi²) of it is land and 6 km² (2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.47% water.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 151,464 people, 59,444 households, and 39,470 families residing in the county. The population density is 361/km² (935/mi²). There are 63,571 housing units at an average density of 152/km² (392/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 93.99% White, 3.84% Black or African American, 0.15% Native American, 0.59% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.41% from other races, and 1.00% from two or more races. 1.10% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
