Meade County is a county located in the state of Kentucky. As of 2000, the population is 26,349. Its county seat is Brandenburg.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 840 km² (324 mi²). 799 km² (309 mi²) of it is land and 41 km² (16 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 4.85% water.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 26,349 people, 9,470 households, and 7,396 families residing in the county. The population density is 33/km² (85/mi²). There are 10,293 housing units at an average density of 13/km² (33/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 92.37% White, 4.13% Black or African American, 0.59% Native American, 0.53% Asian, 0.13% Pacific Islander, 0.83% from other races, and 1.43% from two or more races. 2.15% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
