Callaway County is a county located in the state of Missouri. As of 2000, the population is 40,766. Its county seat is Fulton.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,194 km² (847 mi²). 2,173 km² (839 mi²) of it is land and 21 km² (8 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.97% water.

As of the census of 2000, there are 40,766 people, 14,416 households, and 10,336 families residing in the county. The population density is 19/km² (49/mi²).
