Mississippi County is a county located in the state of Missouri. As of 2000, the population is 13,427. Its county seat is Charleston.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,111 km² (429 mi²). 1,070 km² (413 mi²) of it is land and 41 km² (16 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 3.67% water.
