Grant County is a county located in the state of Oklahoma. As of 2000, the population is 5,144. Its county seat is Medford.


According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,599 km² (1,004 mi²). 2,591 km² (1,001 mi²) of it is land and 8 km² (3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.30% water.

As of the census of 2000, there are 5,144 people, 2,089 households, and 1,456 families residing in the county. The population density is 2/km² (5/mi²). There are 2,622 housing units at an average density of 1/km² (3/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 95.31% White, 0.08% Black or African American, 2.45% Native American, 0.14% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.70% from other races, and 1.30% from two or more races. 1.85% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 2,089 households out of which 30.70% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.40% are married couples living together, 6.30% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.30% are non-families. 28.40% of all households are made up of individuals and 15.80% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.42 and the average family size is 2.95.
