Bon Homme County is a county located in the state of South Dakota. As of 2000, the population is 7,260. Its county seat is Tyndall.

Bon Homme County is the point of origin for the Siberian alien, Tumbleweed, first reported here in 1877, probably introduced in a shipment of flax seed from Ukraine.

Geography

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,506 km² (581 mi²). 1,459 km² (563 mi²) of it is land and 47 km² (18 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 3.09% water.
