Lake County is a county located in the state of South Dakota. As of 2000, the population is 11,276. Its county seat is Madison.

Geography

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,489 km² (575 mi²). 1,459 km² (563 mi²) of it is land and 31 km² (12 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.06% water.
