McCook County is a county located in the state of South Dakota. As of 2000, the population is 5,832. Its county seat is Salem.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,495 km² (577 mi²). 1,488 km² (575 mi²) of it is land and 7 km² (3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.46% water.
