Potter County is a county located in the state of South Dakota. As of 2000, the population is 2,693. Its county seat is Gettysburg.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,327 km² (898 mi²). 2,244 km² (866 mi²) of it is land and 83 km² (32 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 3.56% water.

There are 1,760 housing units at an average density of 1/km² (2/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 98.14% White, 0.00% Black or African American, 0.82% Native American, 0.19% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.07% from other races, and 0.78% from two or more races. 0.19% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
