Trousdale County is a county located in the state of Tennessee. As of 2000, the population is 7,259. Its county seat is Hartsville, with which is shares a consolidated city-county government.

Geography

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 302 km² (117 mi²). 296 km² (114 mi²) of it is land and 6 km² (2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.06% water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 7,259 people, 2,780 households, and 2,034 families residing in the county. The population density is 25/km² (64/mi²). There are 3,095 housing units at an average density of 10/km² (27/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 86.57% White, 11.35% Black or African American, 0.23% Native American, 0.11% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.99% from other races, and 0.72% from two or more races. 1.52% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
