Hardeman County is a county located in the state of Texas. As of 2000, the population is 4,724. Its county seat is Quanah. Hardeman County is named for Bailey Hardeman and Thomas Jones Hardeman, two early Texas politicians and legislators.


According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,805 km² (697 mi²). 1,801 km² (695 mi²) of it is land and 4 km² (2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.23% water.
