Hopkins County is a county located in the state of Texas. As of 2000, the population is 31,960. Its county seat is Sulphur Springs. Hopkins county is named for the family of David Hopkins, an early settler in the area.

Geography

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,053 km² (793 mi²). 2,026 km² (782 mi²) of it is land and 27 km² (10 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.31% water.
