Kent County is a county located in the state of Texas. As of 2000, the population is 859. Its county seat is Jayton, and the county is named for Andrew Kent, who died at the Alamo.


According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,339 km² (903 mi²). 2,337 km² (902 mi²) of it is land and 2 km² (1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.06% water.
