Kinney County is a county located in the state of Texas. As of 2000, the population is 3,379. Its county seat is Brackettville. Kinney County is named for Henry Lawrence Kinney, an early settler.


According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 3,536 km² (1,365 mi²). 3,531 km² (1,363 mi²) of it is land and 5 km² (2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.14% water.
