Shackelford County is a county located in the state of Texas. As of 2000, the population is 3,302. Its county seat is Albany. Shackelford is named for Jack Shackelford, a soldier of the Texas Revolution.

Geography

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,371 km² (916 mi²). 2,367 km² (914 mi²) of it is land and 4 km² (2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.17% water.
