Victoria County is a county located in the state of Texas. As of 2000, the population is 84,088. Its county seat is Victoria.

Geography

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,302 km² (889 mi²). 2,286 km² (882 mi²) of it is land and 16 km² (6 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.70% water.

As of the census of 2000, there are 84,088 people, 30,071 households, and 22,192 families residing in the county. The population density is 37/km² (95/mi²). There are 32,945 housing units at an average density of 14/km² (37/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 74.22% White, 6.30% Black or African American, 0.53% Native American, 0.77% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 15.92% from other races, and 2.22% from two or more races. 39.20% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
