Niobrara County is a county located in the state of Wyoming. As of 2000, the population is 2,407. Its county seat is Lusk.


Niobrara County was organized in 1911.


According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 6,806 km² (2,628 mi²). 6,801 km² (2,626 mi²) of it is land and 5 km² (2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.08% water.


As of the census of 2000, there are 2,407 people, 1,011 households, and 679 families residing in the county. The population density is 0/km² (1/mi²). There are 1,338 housing units at an average density of 0/km² (0/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 98.05% White, 0.12% Black or African American, 0.50% Native American, 0.12% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.50% from other races, and 0.71% from two or more races. 1.50% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 1,011 households out of which 27.10% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.60% are married couples living together, 6.00% have a female householder with no husband present, and 32.80% are non-families. 29.50% of all households are made up of individuals and 14.10% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.28 and the average family size is 2.81.
